Western Pipeline Installs Warning Signs to Safeguard Pipeline Safety

China National Petroleum Corporation News (Reporter: Zhang Pengbo) — From April 21 to 22, staff at the Xining Gas Transmission Station of the Western Pipeline organized an initiative to install pipeline direction warning signs in the high-consequence area along the South City Branch Line.

As temperatures gradually rise, construction activities along the pipeline—such as excavation and tree planting—have noticeably increased, putting additional pressure on pipeline protection efforts. As one of the primary high-consequence areas for the Shuning-Lan pipeline, the Xining Gas Transmission Station is now facing a heavier workload in safeguarding the city’s southern branch pipeline. In response to this situation, the Xining Gas Transmission Station has proactively implemented enhanced protective measures. This includes conducting continuous patrols of key construction zones, promptly contacting project managers whenever potential hazards are identified, and clearly marking pipeline routes with dedicated warning signs. These signs not only highlight the exact location and path of the pipeline but also emphasize the importance of protecting it, ensuring that construction teams fully understand the risks involved. By rigorously enforcing these protective measures, the station has effectively prevented damage to the pipeline during ongoing worksites. The newly installed pipeline warning signs are designed with clear, eye-catching visuals and concise messaging, providing invaluable support for pipeline protection efforts while eliminating safety risks around the pipeline. To date, the Xining Gas Transmission Station has already placed 207 such warning signs at critical points along the southern branch line.

Next, the Xining Gas Transmission Station will further intensify its efforts to explore more effective pipeline protection measures, ensuring the safe and stable operation of the gas transmission pipeline.
