Changqing Jing'an Oilfield Accelerates Associated Gas Utilization

China National Petroleum Corporation News (Correspondents Wang Xiqin and Wang Lixia) In early April, the on-site expansion and renovation project for two light hydrocarbon units under the Third Project Department of Changqing Jing'an Oilfield's associated gas facilities, along with the upstream closed-loop modification initiative, was launched.

Associated gas refers to the volatile light components and impurity gases naturally present in crude oil. Implementing associated gas recovery and utilization is an effective strategy for Changqing Oilfield to accelerate its secondary development while simultaneously boosting energy conservation, emission reduction, cleaner production, and overall efficiency improvements.

Since 2001, Changqing Oilfield has invested in and constructed the first associated gas comprehensive utilization project—Jing'erlian Light Hydrocarbon Plant—at the Jing'an Oilfield. Over the past two years, Changqing Oilfield conducted on-site surveys of its 12 affiliated oil production plants, thoroughly assessing the oil and gas properties, crude oil stabilization processes, associated gas recovery techniques, treatment methods, and utilization plans at each facility. Additionally, the company meticulously reviewed 13 national regulations and 21 industry standards, laying out a strategic roadmap for maximizing the use of associated gas. As of 2019, these oil production plants had collectively completed and put into operation 21 light hydrocarbon plants and 18 mixed hydrocarbon stations.
