Chuancheng Well-Downhole Operations Company's H103 well achieves high-yield industrial gas flow.
China National Petroleum Corporation News (Correspondent Mao Jian) On April 16, after 2 hours and 35 minutes of meticulous operations, the Chuanqing Drilling Downhole Operations Company successfully completed the composite soil acidizing treatment on the Xu-2 section of Well H103 in Zhongtai. A total of 228.2 cubic meters of fluid was injected, with the highest pumping pressure reaching 90 MPa and the maximum displacement rate at 2.6 cubic meters per minute. Testing conducted on April 21 confirmed an impressive daily industrial gas flow of 800,600 cubic meters.
The H103 well, located in Huaguan Town, Nanbu County, southern Sichuan Province, is a rolling evaluation well deployed on the Zhongtaishan structure within the Sichuan Basin. It is an inclined well that began drilling on September 9, 2018, and was completed on January 20, 2019. The target formation is the First Member of the Shahe Formation, with a total drilling depth of 4,550 meters. The primary purpose of acidizing this well is to obtain critical data on the fluid properties, production rates, and formation pressures associated with the Second Member of the Shahe Formation—thus achieving the overall objectives of the drilling operation.
During the acidizing operation at Well H103 in the Zhongtai area, the project faced significant challenges due to the wide span of the reservoir section and its highly heterogeneous nature. Additionally, there are currently no previously treated wells in the Second Member of the Zhongtaishan Block, limiting the availability of benchmark data from neighboring areas for guiding this particular reservoir modification effort. Despite these difficulties, Chuanqing Downhole Operations Company rigorously followed the construction plan, successfully executing a composite mud acid treatment across the 92-meter-long perforated interval. This achievement provides critical technical support, enabling the Zhongtaishan structure in the Sichuan Basin to produce high-yield gas flows.
